Within the framework of reinforcing community partnership, the Southern Governorate recently organised a virtual walking activity, as part of its cancer awareness campaign "We Stand With You", which is the first of its kind to be organised through audio-visual means of communication.

The activity was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, in cooperation with the Public Security Sports Federation in the Ministry of Interior, and in the presence of Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dosari, Deputy Southern Governor.

HH Shaikh Khalifa asserted the Southern Governorate's keenness to organise and sponsor community and health activities, simultaneously with international events and observations, with the aim of cementing the concept of community partnership and promote health awareness among individuals, by encouraging them to practice in different healthy lifestyles, in addition to launching initiatives to support the efforts exerted to raise awareness on cancer.

His Highness underscored that the activity was organised virtually, in line with the precautionary and preventive measures, serving the purpose of encouraging members of the society to commit to social distancing measures as a social value, while at the same time boosting the utilisation of audio-visual means of communication in virtually raising awareness on several causes.

Additionally, HH the Southern Governor valued the efforts dedicated by the Public Security Sports Federation in the Ministry of Interior and all the participants for contributing to the success of the activity, which reflects the leading role played by the Governorate in the cooperation and coordination with the all the relevant authorities, as well as exerting more efforts to raise awareness on safety and health matters among the citizens and residents of the governorate.

For their part, the participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation to HH Shaikh Khalifa and praised His Highness's pioneering role in organising health and awareness events and initiatives. They also lauded HH the Southern Governor's keenness to maintain virtual communication with the citizens and residents of the governorate, and promoting the concept of social distancing to ensure their safety.
