Within a series of field inspection visits conducted by the Southern Governorate with the aim of reducing congestions at labour camps, and as part of the keen follow up of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, a joint team led by Engineer Khalid Abdullateef Haji, Director of Engineering Services and Investment at the Southern Governorate, paid a visit to a number of joint labour accommodations in Riffa area. 

As a result of the visit, the team detected a number of violating joint residences, while legal procedures were taken against the owners of 15 residences, and power was disconnected from a number of violating buildings, pending the rectification of the violations detected in them.

On this occasion, Mr. Haji affirmed that such inspection visits will be continued to ensure the application of safety and security conditions at labour camps and its compliance to the announced preventive and precautionary measures to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Mr. Haji added that the visits come as a result of the continuous follow up and in line with the instructions of HH the Southern Governor to cooperate and coordinate with the relevant security authorities to reinforce preventive and precautionary measures at labourers' residences.

For their part, members of the joint team praised the efforts exerted by the Southern Governorate to ensure the continuity of inspection visits to achieve safety and security amidst the outbreak of Covid-19.
