HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor has chaired the Security Committee meeting which was held through video call in the presence of police officers representing various security departments. 

At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Southern Governor has underlined the Governorate’s keenness to continue its efforts in adopting the precautionary and preventive measures to bolster the security level in implementation of the directives of HE Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

“The Southern Governorate is taking many precautionary measures by cooperating with the various security systems in Bahrain in organising awareness and preventative campaigns across the Governorate,” HH Shaikh Khalifa said.

Meanwhile, HH praised the General Directorate of Civil Defence’s endeavours towards reinforcing safety requirements via the mutual collaboration with the Southern Governorate in holding disinfection and sterilisation campaigns in the Governorate. “We will continue conducting disinfection campaigns by coordinating with the security departments to cement community and security awareness,” HH Shaikh Khalifa explained. 

Furthermore, HH Shaikh Khalifa was briefed on the results of the initiatives and field meetings made by the Southern Governorate to follow-up to the situation of the illegal labour camps in an effort to solve the overcrowding group homes housing expat laboures issue. And HH the Southern Governor directed for taking more steps to find quick solutions for this issue in coordination with the security departments.

Moreover, HH Shaikh Khalifa was updated on the outcomes of the security cameras projects which began three years ago and resulted in the installation of 50 cameras across the Governorate. In this context, HH Shaikh Khalifa valued the efforts of the General Directorate of Traffic and its role in maintaining traffic safety in the Governorate.

On its part, the Security Committee affirmed taking all the required precautions to ensure the safety of the citizens and residents living in the Governorate by coordinating with the competent authorities. 

From their side, the attendees hailed the leading contributions of HH Shaikh Khalifa towards cementing community partnership which plays a prominent role in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of the Governorate’s people and residents.
