His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor has chaired the 11th coordination meeting which was held through video call in the presence of various representatives from several governmental agencies.
At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Southern Governor welcomed the attendees, praising the efforts being produced to cement security and social awareness by adopting precautionary and preventative measures in coordination with the Municipality of the Southern Region, the Electricity and Water Authority and the Directorate of the Southern Police Station.
Meanwhile, the meeting reviewed the results of the first phase of the field visits made by the joint team and the efforts exerted towards solving the overcrowded labour camps.
And it was revealed that those visits covered 57% of the Southern Governorate, and HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa urged the team to continue its efforts.
Furthermore, HH the Southern Governor praised the initiatives introduced by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, affirming the Governorate's keenness to support NGOs and private establishments involved in manufacturing local products.
Moreover, E.Sameer Affouni, Director of Materials Engineering Directorate at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning projected a presentation shedding light on the road and infrastructure projects in the Riffa region, including the project to complete pedestrian lines in a number of main roads and public facilities, in order to enhance traffic safety of road users.
On the other hand, the attendees were briefed through a visual presentation by the Engineering Services and Investment Department on the needs of the people such as paving roads and establishing sidewalks in order to enhance safety among the citizens and residents, and HH the Southern Governor underlined the significance of following-up with the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to develop the infrastructure of Riffa and rehabilitate vital roads.
Additionally, HH the Southern Governor discussed with the Sunni Waqf Directorate's representative the construction progress of mosques in the new housing projects, stressing the importance of the great role that mosques play in the life of individuals and society as a whole.
At the end of the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the efforts of the Municipality of the Southern Region in establishing various projects that focus on developing green spaces and parks that meet the needs and aspirations of the Governorate's people.
