Following the directives of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, the joint team of representatives from the Southern Governorate and the Southern Governorate Police Directorate continues its field visits to labour camps across the various areas in the governorate, as part of efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.
Eng. Khalid Abdullatif Haji, Director of Engineering Services and Investment at the Governorate, who also spearheads the joint team, explained that legal action had been taken against the owners of 11 shared accommodations in Isa Town.
He also emphasised the importance of correcting the conditions of these camps and fulfilling the requirements set by the competent authorities, adding that the visits also include providing safety tips and guidance.
Mr. Haji added that the follow up HH the Southern Governor on the team's work progress reaffirms the importance of partnership, cooperation and coordination between the various bodies, in order to continue the control and security role.
He thanked the participating authorities, including the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, Southern Area Municipality and the Electricity and Water Authority, stating that their efforts and cooperation contributed to success of the field visits, curbing overcrowding at labour camps and implementing the necessary precautions and preventive measures to combat the pandemic.
