Southern Governor Chairs Coordination Meeting, Discusses Violations at Labour Camps

His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, chaired the coordination council meeting remotely, with the participation of different entities' members.

His Highness praised the efforts made to achieve cooperation and coordination in implementing projects in the governorate, as well as affirming the Council's role in following up on meeting the citizens' aspirations.

His Highness reviewed the measures taken by the Southern Area Municipality and the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, with regards to reducing the numbers of expatriate labourers in residential areas and improving their residential conditions.

It is worth noting that the joint efforts of the Directorate and Municipality in this regard have resulted in the detection of 691 labour camps across the governorate. The owners of 388 violating buildings have been notified to rectify their situations, while 203 buildings are currently undergoing revamps and the owners of 15 buildings were referred to the concerned authorities. 

HH the Southern Governor highlighted the latest updates in Khalifa Town and stressed the necessity of rehabilitating its roads and setting up an entrance with different road signs to meet citizens' aspirations.

Moreover, His Highness pointed out the importance of developing the Askar port and coast, which reflect the civilisational image in the governorate.

At the end of the meeting, His Highness stressed the need for creating an infrastructure through improving the quality of lighting in residential areas.

The attendees praised the prominent role played by HH the Southern Governor in cooperating with other entities to achieve comprehensive developments in the governorate.
