In line with community partnership adopted by the Southern Governorate in cooperation with various security systems in the Kingdom of Bahrain, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, announced the launch of the second edition of HH the Southern Governor Security-Social Porgramme (virtual).

The announcement came in the presence of His Excellency Brigadier Isa Thamer Abdulla Al Dossari, Deputy Southern Governor, as well as high-ranking police officers and senior officials from the General Directorate of Traffic, the Royal Police Academy, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the Community Police Directorate and the General Directorate of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security in the Ministry of Interior.

On the occasion, HH Shaikh Khalifa stated: "Launching the second edition of this programme follows the tremendous success achieved in the first edition and is part of our keenness to raise the community and security awareness of our young generations, as well as providing them with essential relevant guidelines through a virtual programme."

His Highness also said: "Our objective is to allow our youth to understand the information risks and to avoid being exposed to them and reduce their impacts. This includes raising awareness of the right use of social media platforms, in addition to bolstering security and stability foundations through implementing meaningful security initiatives."

HH the Southern Governor further expressed his thanks and appreciations to the efforts of the security agencies towards organising this programme, praising their keenness to make it a huge success by participating in holding useful seminars and workshops to shed light on the main challenges facing the youth today.

Registration for the programme will kick-off on Sunday, September 6, 2020, and will be closed on September 17, 2020, through the Governorate's website www.southern.gov.bh. The programme will begin on September 20, 2020, and continues until October 6, 2020. Registration is open for youth aged between 15 years and 25 years from both genders.

It’s worth noting that the first edition was widely hailed by the citizens and the residents of the Governorate, considering that it was the first of its kind programme to raise security awareness among the youth.
