As part of Bahrain's preparations to celebrate its National Day, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, announced a series of events and programmes, including national celebrations and heritage activities across various areas of the governorate.
HH Shaikh Khalifa highlighted the governorate’s commitment to enhancing community participation and fostering national pride and citizenship values.
HH Shaikh Khalifa emphasised the importance of collaboration with security and government entities, civil society organisations, and the private sector to ensure the success of the celebrations. Sponsors for the events include Al Salam Bank as a platinum sponsor and Ahli Bank as a gold sponsor.
A comprehensive programme has been prepared, featuring celebrations, traditional Ardah performances, and cultural and heritage activities, with dedicated areas for children and families. The events will include a celebration and Ardah in Riffa on Monday, December 9, another in Khalifa City on Tuesday, December 10, and a third in Zallaq on Wednesday, December 11.
HH Shaikh Khalifa also announced that a National Day Festival will take place on Sunday, December 15, at Khalifa Al Kubra Park, showcasing cultural heritage and traditional crafts. The event will feature local businesses, cafés, and productive families, reflecting the rich heritage of the Southern Governorate.
The Southern Governorate is also supporting the "Wain W Bkm" event at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) from December 5-17, which will include various activities and programmes.
The fifth edition of the National Radio Competition will run from December 10-16, organised in collaboration with the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture and Bahrain Radio.
HH Shaikh Khalifa highlighted the competition’s success in previous years and its role in celebrating Bahrain’s national heritage and achievements.
The competition will feature daily questions announced via Bahrain Radio and the Southern Governorate's mobile app, with winners selected through an electronic draw and announced on the governorate's Instagram account, @southerngov_bh. The competition offers valuable prizes to participants.
