On the occasion of the Cancer Awareness Month, which is globally observed annually throughout the month of October, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, has recently inaugurated the Southern Governorate Cancer Awareness Campaign titled "We Stand With You", in the presence of Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dosari, Deputy Southern Governor.

During the inauguration, His Highness asserted the Southern Governorate's keenness to organise the campaign as part of its commitment to support and care for health and community activities, in line with global observations and in order to consolidate community partnership and health awareness, and to support the efforts exerted to fight cancer.

HH Shaikh Khalifa launched the campaign, which will continue throughout October, and will include several initiatives, such as organising a virtual activity that is aimed at combatting cancer, in addition to the distribution of cancer awareness ribbons in cooperation with Bahrain Cancer Society.

It is worth noting that the Southern Governorate, supported and directed by HH the Southern Governor, has organised several cancer awareness initiatives, including the “Barahat Al-Khair” charity activity, which refers its income to Bahrain Cancer Society, donating advanced medical devices, as well as organising a series of exhibitions, and health and cultural activities that were organised in coordination with educational and social institutions in the governorate.

This year, the "We Stand With You" campaign is organised virtually, considering the extraordinary circumstances imposed by the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, and in support to the national efforts exerted to combat the spread of the virus.
