His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, has recently met with the residents and citizens of the governorate through the weekly "Virtual Majlis"; a technology designed to allow people to meet through video call with the Governorate’s officials on a weekly-basis.

The event was attended by several officials and police officers from the Governorate, as well as HE Brigadier Isa Thamer Abdulla Al Dossari, Deputy Southern Governor.

At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Southern Governor welcomed the attendees, praising, on behalf of the people of the Governorate, the efforts being exerted by HE General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, to bolster security and stability in the country.

“To have peace and security in our country is an accomplishment that reflects the key role of the Ministry of Interior in advancing the prosperity of Bahrain,” HH Shaikh Khalifa said during the virtual meeting.

Moreover, he pointed out that the Southern Governorate will continue launching leading social and security initiatives to enrich the awareness of the people and activate community partnership in an effort to ensure the safety and health of all residents and citizens.

His Highness continued: "Our efforts in adopting the precautionary measures will remain the same to combat the spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19."

Meanwhile, HH the Southern Governor also discussed during the meeting the requirements and needs of the people, including the infrastructure projects. His Highness also indicated that the Southern Governorate will continue introducing development initiatives that mirror the modern image of the governorate.

for their part, the attendees thanked the Southern Governorate for its efforts in adopting programmes and initiatives that contribute to raising public awareness on various issues, as well as the Governorate’s constant keenness to establish links with the people of the governorate in order to meet their needs and requirements, and achieve comprehensive development.
