HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor has chaired the 9th Security Committee meeting which was held through video call. The event was attended by HE Brigadier Isa Thamer Abdulla Al Dossari, Deputy Southern Governor as well as other officers and representatives from various security departments at the Ministry of Interior. At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Southern Governor welcomed the attendees, affirming that the Governorate will continue implementing the directives of HE Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in order to follow-up to the security situation and take required precautionary measures to combat the Coronavirus “COVID-19” and to safeguard the society.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of coordinating with presidents of “Ma’atams” to ensure abiding by precautions and social distancing while observing religious events in coordination with the police stations. From his side, Captain Mohammed Al Khan, President of Riffa Civil Defence Centre projected a presentation which showed the fire which broke out in a building located in Al Hajeeyat.
And HH the Southern Governor hailed the readiness of the Civil Defence staff and their quick response to any emergency, underlining the significance of bolstering partnership and coordination with the General Directorate of Civil Defence.
Moreover, HH Shaikh Khalifa held discussions with the General Directorate of Traffic about tackling the traffic congestion issue in the key and secondary roads in order to meet the needs of the people and citizens. In this context, HH the Southern Governor praised the efforts and collaboration of the General Directorate of Traffic and its role in cementing road safety in the Governorate.
Meanwhile, Captain Mohammed Abdulrahman Bushlaibi, Security Coordination Officer at the Governorate discussed the efforts being exerted to reinforce precautions and social distancing in the Southern Governorate. From their side, the attendees praised the role of the Governorate in following-up to all important issues and striving to achieve community partnership in all levels.
