Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa chaired the eighth Security Committee meeting for 2022, in the presence of his Deputy, Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Doseri, and senior officers and officials.

At the outset of the meeting the Southern Governor welcomed the audience, affirming the role of the Security Committee in carrying out the directives of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to cater to the needs of citizens and promote security and safety across the governorate.

His Highness commended the remarkable efforts of the security bodies in boosting security in the Southern Governorate, noting the level of cooperation and coordination between the governorate and the security bodies.

Then, HH the Southern Governor watched a visual presentation by the General Directorate of Traffic on preparations for the start of the new academic year to ensure traffic flow and students’ safety.

After that, the Security Committee was briefed about the efforts of the Community Police department at the Southern Governorate Police Directorate and its visit to schools marking the return of the students. His Highness praised the role of the Community Police to enhance community partnership with the students and their parents.

In addition to that, the General Directorate of Civil Defence highlighted through a visual presentation its efforts during summer, including inspection visits to many venues. It also spotlighted functions and initiatives to be held in cooperation with the Southern Governorate in the future.

HH the Southern Governor also watched a visual presentation by the Southern Police Directorate on main issues, stressing the importance of rapid response, security readiness and enhancing awareness.

Then, the Security Committee discussed joint efforts to ensure success of programmes set to be held in the future.

At the end of the meeting, the audience commended the role of the Southern Governor in following up and implementing the security initiatives according to the principle of community partnership.
