His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, chaired a security meeting that was attended by several senior officers, representatives of security authorities and a number of officials from the Southern Governorate.

The meeting came in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in relation to setting a mechanism to ensure reducing the numbers of foreign labourers in their places of residence, and within the national efforts aiming to reinforce the preventive measures and precautionary procedures to combat the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

In the meeting, His Highness reviewed the strategy of the Southern Governorate to reduce the overcrowding of labourers in their residences and to benefit from educational and social buildings in the different areas of the governorate to serve this purpose, in addition to a brief on the Civil Defence procedures to sterilise establishments.

HH Shaikh Khalifa underlined the importance of enhancing security control in the different parts of the governorate, at the same time, HH the Southern Governor instructed to follow up on the preventive, precautionary and awareness procedures in the different institutions and public facilities in the governorate.

His Highness also emphasised on the significant role played by public security personnel in ensuring the safety and protection of the community, stressing on the necessity to intensify the preventive and security campaigns, as well as foot police patrols to raise awareness among citizens and residents, in addition to the continuous coordination and cooperation in combatting the panbdemic using all the necessary means of security and precautionary.
