His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, has chaired the coordination meeting via video conference, in the presence of representatives of the participating bodies.

In the meeting, His Highness welcomed the participating members and commended their efforts to implement the directives of the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to meet citizens’ needs in the security, service and social fields.

HH the Southern Governor followed up the progress of work on a number of projects in cooperation with the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, such as Al Hunainiya Natural Water Spring project.

The representative of the Ministry presented a detailed briefing on the leading project, which occupies 7,000 square metres, and the landscapes and facilities surrounding the historic location.

Additionally, HH Shaikh Khalifa reviewed the implementation stages of Ain Umm Guwaifa natural water spring project, which is being implemented in West Riffa  by the Southern Area Municipality.

Within the frame of cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Health, His Highness was also updated on the developments of work in several health projects in the different parts of the governorate, including the Khalifa Town Health Centre, Shaikh Abdulla Bin Khalid Al Khalifa Health Centre in Riffa and other key projects.

His Highness extended thanks and appreciation to the medical and nursing teams, hailing their vital role in combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The tribute was on the occasion of the International Nursing Day, which is observed globally on May 12.
