Interior Minister meets Southern Governorate residents

The meeting was part of the minister’s visits to governorates, within the framework of the Interior Ministry's strategy of community partnership and engagement with all sectors of society. The strategy aims to bolster national solidarity and preserve Bahrain’s identity, serving as a societal safeguard against regional challenges and risks.

 

The minister underscored that this meeting reflects ongoing community efforts to foster national unity and cooperation. He expressed appreciation to His Highness the Governor for his role in launching various community initiatives and commended the Southern Governorate residents for their commitment to upholding national responsibility, promoting security, adhering to the law, and supporting community cohesion and civil peace.

 

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah reviewed the regional situation, highlighting the security, stability and strategic vision in Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He praised the national awareness and unity, urging citizens to remain vigilant against external influences that could compromise domestic security.

 

The minister expressed pride in the royal directives that promote national values and commended the government’s support, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for initiatives reinforcing Bahraini identity.

 

The minister said that promoting responsible citizenship and reinforcing national identity requires collective efforts and honouring Bahrain’s history. He emphasised the importance of expanding programmes and initiatives in cooperation with the private sector, national companies, and civil society organisations. He said that interest in advancing those elements has led to the recent announcement on holding a national conference on reinforcing the Bahraini identity, in early 2025.

 

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah praised the Southern Governorate Police Directorate for its efforts in maintaining security and reducing crime rates, thereby enhancing conditions for development, investment, and vital projects in the region.

 

The minister affirmed that adherence to the law and national responsibility reflect community awareness essential for safeguarding Bahrain’s achievements. He added that security is a shared responsibility, prioritising national interest and unified support for His Majesty’s leadership to ensure Bahrain remains safe and stable amidst regional uncertainties.
