His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate launched
"Green Environment" and "Keep Your Region" initiative which comes within the framework of the Southern Governorate responsibilities towards strengthening the community partnership with the public and private sectors in addition to the national sector and to maintain sustainable community development in all areas of the Southern Governorate.
HH stressed that the Southern Governorate is keen to cooperate and coordinate with all concerned in raising awareness through communication with citizens and to highlight the cultural picture that characterizes the region in terms of environmental, social and security aspects.
For her part, Mrs. Fatima bint Hassan Al Ghattam stressed the role played by the Southern Governorate in setting the objectives of these initiatives for all segments and categories of the Southern Governorate society through the green environment axis in providing various ways to involve the members of the community and environmental coordination with the relevant authorities in addition to highlighting the interconnectedness between the governorate and the coordination bodies of "Keep Your Region" initiative through maintaining the social fabric and meeting the needs of people that were monitored through the weekly council of the province and field visits to all areas of the province.
On the other hand, Eng. Khalid Abdullatif Haji, Director of the Engineering Services Directorate in the Southern Governorate, explained the main means and objectives of the initiative in terms of service by improving the urbanization of all areas of the governorate and enhancing the green environment by increasing the green area throughout the governorate and encouraging the community groups to use sustainable energy through awareness campaigns with the coordinating and supporting bodies.
The meeting was also attended by senior representatives of government and private sectors, representatives of the private sector and the private sector who expressed their welcoming to the fruitful cooperation that benefits the individual and the society in the Southern Governorate which achieves cultural and developmental growth in the environmental, social and security fields.
