Directed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa to inaugurate a main avenue in the Khalifa Town, bearing the name of scholar Abdelrahman bin Ahmed Al Zawawi.

The inaurguration was attended by members of Al Zawawi’s family and officials representing the Southern Governorate.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa paid tribute to HM the King, hailing royal directives which, he said, represent a source of honour.

On behalf of the citizens, he extended deepest thanks and gratitude to HM the King for the royal gestures in honour of scholar Al Zawawi who set the "Al Zubarah and Bahrain Calendar” and served the nation.
