The Southern Governorate held an event to mark Bahraini Women’s Day 2025, this year under the theme "Bahraini Women: Distinction, Creativity, Innovation."

His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Southern Governor, commended the significant efforts of Bahraini women across all sectors, emphasising that the recognition reflects appreciation for their vital role in achieving the Kingdom’s aspirations under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of the Government under His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He highlighted that Bahraini women have contributed to many developmental achievements and are active partners in building a future for the Kingdom.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali noted that the recognition of Bahraini women also reflects the initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), who is committed to supporting and empowering women across all domains.

He added that the Southern Governorate is rich with the accomplishments and contributions of women in every sector.

She noted that the Governorate’s efforts provide a model to follow, whether through supporting digital, social, and developmental innovation initiatives, promoting community projects led by women, or through strategic partnerships that give female staff broader opportunities to demonstrate their creativity and capabilities in various sectors, reflecting a firm belief in women as key partners in sustainable development.

The female staff of the governorate expressed pride in their contributions to serving the community and in celebrating an occasion that highlights the Governorate’s commitment to strengthening the status of women and recognising their active contributions.
