Following the directives of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa, Southern Governor, to follow up on the developmental and services projects that are being implemented in the Southern Governorate to ensure that the work progress is going as planned and in a way that meets the aspirations of residents, a team from the Governorate, accompanied by a team of officials from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, visited the villages of Askar and Al Dur, were they stood on the latest work updates of some of the projects there.
The field visit included several sites, such as an occasions hall for the residents of Al Dur village; a project that is considered as one of the key projects being implemented by the Governorate and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, with the aim of enhancing social cohesion and meeting the aspirations and requirements of the residents.
The team was briefed about the work progress of the project and its facilities and infrastructure by Eng. Maryam Abdullah Ameen, Construction Projects Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning. The team also visited the areas where rainwater flooding occur in Al Dur village and discussed the solutions to the issue in coordination with the relevant authorities, in order to prevent its recurrence and eradicate the damages accompanying the rain season. Concluding its field visit, the team visited Al Dur Park project to review the latest updates with regards to the facilities needed at the park. which is an essential project for the residents of the area.
The Southern Governorate team consisted of Eng. Khalid Abdulateef Hajji, Engineering and Investment Services Director, HE Shaikh Ahmed bin Humood Al Khalifa from the office of HH the Governor, and Mr. Mohammed Hassan Al Fao, Social Programmes and Community Affairs Director, while the Eng. Maryam Abdullah Ameen represented the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.
