His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, chaired the Southern Governorate Security Committee’s remote meeting, in the presence of Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dosari, Deputy Southern Governor, and a number of officers representing security directorates.
HH Shaikh Khalifa praised the directives of His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, to follow up on initiatives and programmes aimed at promoting security all over the governorate, in partnership with the security directorates.
His Highness was briefed about plans related to traffic flow in many areas within the governorate, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, stressing the need to boost traffic control to ensure the safety of road users.
For his part, Colonel Adel Al Dosari, Director of Traffic Control at the General Directorate of Traffic, underlined the Directorate’s keenness on coordination with the Governorate through the provision of traffic patrols to regulate traffic movement and reduce congestions across the different areas within the governorate.
As part of the Southern Governorate’s efforts to combat coronavirus, HH the Southern Governor reviewed the “pre-emptive disinfection” plan being carried out in partnership with the General Directorate of Civil Defence and volunteers, through a series of disinfection campaigns that was held in Zallaq and Riffa to ensure the safety of citizens and residents, and the plan will include more areas in the governorate.
Additionally, His Highness also reviewed the outcome of the virtual security forum which was held in conjunction with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science and “Ma’an” (Together) programme to combat violence and addiction. HH Shaikh Khalifa affirmed the significance of such activities, which represents security and community partnership.
Major Hamad Al Muhaiza, Head of the Criminal Information Division at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, highlighted in the meeting the efforts exerted by the Governorate to continue organising virtual forums and seminars that reflect mutual cooperation in enhancing security among members of society.
The attendees expressed praised the leading role played by HH the Southern Governor in following up on security initiatives and continuous strive to achieve it according to the highest awareness and precaution levels.
