Southern Governor Chairs Coordination Council Meeting

His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Southern Governor, chaired the coordination council meeting in the presence of representatives of government bodies.

His Highness welcomed the members, affirming the importance of the council’s role in monitoring the needs of citizens and meeting their aspirations, at the time HH Shaikh Khalifa praised the efforts exerted to achieve cooperation and coordination in implementing projects across the Southern Governorate.

During the meeting, His Highness reviewed a study submitted by the Engineering Services and Investment Department in the Southern Governorate on the most important service needs in Khalifa City that have been reported as a result of the scheduled field visits to the city.

HH Shaikh Khalifa underlined the importance of providing the residential areas in the city, including Al Naeemat, Al Maaleem and Al Mahadeer, with the required infrastructural services, such as street lights, and health and educational facilities, in order to achieve comprehensive development.

HH the Southern Governor also instructed to discuss the construction of entrances and exits at the city, in cooperation with the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, stressing at the same time on the importance of paying field visits to the area and stand on the needs and requirements of its residents.

His Highness reviewed the latest developments in road and infrastructure projects in Askar and Jau areas, where His Highness stressed the importance of developing solutions to reduce traffic congestion in this vital street that serves a large segment of the residents of Khalifa City, Askar and Jau areas.

The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning presented a brief presentation on the work progress of the project of connecting Al Hunainiya Avenue and Al Muaskar Highway.  HH Shaikh Khalifa emphasised on the importance of the project considering the high population and traffic flow in Al Huainiya area, which is also a hub of several government institutions and services centres.
