The Southern Governor affirmed the governorate’s keenness on holding health and social functions, in conjunction with international occasions to promote community partnership and health awareness.
The SCH President delivered a speech in which he underlined the importance of increasing social awareness of diabetes and ways of preventing it and reducing its complications by exercising and following a balanced and healthy diet. He also pointed out the role of BDS in this regard.
Within the same context, Health Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, Dr. Meriam Al Hajeri, the BDS Deputy President, pointed out keenness on providing the best services for the diabetics and enabling them to control the disease and avoid its complications.
For her part, endocrine and diabetes consultant at the King Hamad University Hospital and Head of BDS’ scientific committee, Professor Dalal Al Romaihi, provided a detailed explanation on the disease and its dangers. She also highlighted ways of preventing the disease and main health programmes provided by BDS to all social components.
The audience thanked the Southern Governor for his efforts and role in supporting health and awareness functions aimed at boosting community partnership and coordinating efforts with the competent establishments
