Agreement Signed to Establish Multi-Purpose Hall in Al Dur

Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, HE Mr Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf inked an agreement with Tamcon Contracting Company to establish a multi-purpose hall in Al Dur. Signing on behalf of the company was engineer Abdullah Al Abbasi during a ceremony held in the presence of the Southern Governor HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa. 

On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa expressed delight at signing such a contract, describing this project as vital given its establishment has been personally followed and sponsored by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister whose concern and interest in accomplishing development projects for the people of Bahrain are well-known.

Moreover, HH the Southern Governor valued the close and constant cooperation between the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning and the Southern Governorate in a bid to establish this important project, stressing that the progress, growth and prosperity witnessed by the governorate today is thanks to the kind directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country and the support of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister and the continued follow-up of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister.

“We are witnessing today another success which is added to the achievements we are looking forward to accomplishing in the Southern Governorate in all fields. This vital project is a fruit of the initiatives and pioneer development projects which are meant to serve the people of Al Dur and the neighboring areas following the urban renaissance witnessed by Khalifa City. The Governorate has taken the initiative to provide a set of service projects to achieve the comprehensive development which covered all sectors,” HH Shaikh bin Ali said.

“We are working tirelessly to deliver more development and service projects that meet the aspirations of the people living in the Southern Governorate. Our main aim is to move from a success to another one. We have a clear vision for what we want to achieve in the coming years thanks to our meetings with the people and the field visits we have done,” he added.

From his side, HE the Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning explained that the project will occupy a 2023 square meter land plot, of which the building area will cover 777 square meters. He added that the cost of completing the project is BD388,000 and the amount will be fully covered by the Ministry of Oil. He pointed out that the designs of the building commensurate with the distinct Bahraini architectural style and keep abreast of the continued development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He revealed that the building will houses two halls; one for men, while the other one is for women. He stated that the building can house 160 people at a time. He also said that the building is environmentally friendly.
