­Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa paid a visit today to the American University of Bahrain where he was welcomed by its President Dr. Susan E. Saxton, members of the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors and a number of academics. He praised the academic and educational efforts made by the administration which turned the university into one of the major educational edifices. He also underlined the Southern Governorate's richness in development projects in various fields, including the educational sector.

Dr. Saxton lauded keenness of the Southern Governor on following up on main educational projects in the governorate which reflects his remarkable efforts to serve the community and reach out to academic parties.
