Southern Governor inaugurates historical exhibition

Southern Governor, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, inaugurated today “the Southern Governorate’s Historical Exhibition” at Wadi Al-Sail Mall, marking the kingdom’s celebrations of the National Days, in commemoration of the establishment of the Bahraini state as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, the anniversary of its full membership in the United Nations, and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne.

 

The exhibition is being held as part of a series of national events to celebrate the national occasion. The inauguration was attended by Deputy Southern Governor, Brigadier Isa bin Thamer Al Dosari, senior officials, dignitaries and citizens.

 

HH the Southern Governor stressed the governorate’s keenness on reviving the inherent heritage and preserving customs and traditions passed down from generation to generation.


He pointed out the Southern Governorate’s rich heritage, noting that the exhibition aims to inform youngsters about the governorate’s heritage.

 

His Highness toured the historical exhibition which featured a collection of historical photos of all towns and regions in the Southern Governorate, the main landmarks, collectibles and handicrafts.

 

The exhibition also included a special section for the Southern Governorate’s published book on Riffa between the past and the present, which was inaugurated by HH the Southern Governor at the outset of 2021.


The exhibition also featured a 3D visual documentary on Riffa history and its historical landmarks.
