General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, attended the third edition of the Southern Governorate Forum for Investment Development under the theme "Toward Sustainable Community".
The forum aimed to explore significant development projects in the Southern Governorate and partnership with the private sector. It also targeted investors looking for investment opportunities in the district.
The minister affirmed Bahrain’s safety and security, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He said that security is the foundation for investment projects and to move forward to achieve the sustainable development goals in the government action programme.
Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah highlighted security as part of the main investment requirements, where Bahrain is considered an attractive destination for local and foreign investment because of the flexible legislation that supports the national economy.
His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa noted that the Southern Governorate is keen to implement HM the King's directives, interact with the residents and provide the best services to achieve an integrated development, hailing the continuous support of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He emphasised that technology is considered an essential driver for achieving the goals of sustainable development and progress, as the Southern Governorate has adopted the approach of constant communication with the public and adopted electronic plans, as part of its keenness to monitor the needs of the people.
The minister valued the contributions of real estate companies in developing public utilities and building essential projects to promote tourism and investment in all parts of the district.
