In the presence of Municipalities' Affairs and Agriculture Minister, Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, and Southern Governor, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the historic Ain Umm Guwaifa Natural Water Spring was opened following its revamp.

 The minister and HH the Southern Governor inspected the sites, and were informed about the development work it had witnessed.

Commenting, Al-Mubarak affirmed the Municipalities' Affairs and Agriculture Ministry’s interest in developing heritage sites to preserve them for current and future generations, as they stand witness to the kingdom's long history and civilisations, as well as the customs and traditions of its people since ancient times.

He unveiled the Ministry's plans to revamp various historical and heritage sites related to its terms of reference so as to be a destination for those interested in the kingdom's long history and the traditions of its society.

He added that the ministry plans to revamp historic springs and parks, in cooperation with governorates and municipal councils.
